Since the 10 Pro is the latest flagship from the Chinese OEM, it was anything but obvious that they will be the first in line to get blessed with the latest OS build. And that was indeed the case. As far as the installation steps are concerned, all that you needed to do is grab hold of the firmware and then install it via the Local Upgrade method. However, that proved to be easier said than done. Many users are reportedly getting stuck on the password setup screen on their OnePlus 10 Pro while trying to install Android 13.
To bypass this, they have tried entering their current password and all their previous ones, but to no avail. While there is an option to “Use a different password type”, however, that is only giving out the option to enter alphanumeric characters or a 4-pin setup, both of which are also getting bugged with this issue. And no, there is no option for a fingerprint setup. So is there a way out? Well, there does exist a nifty workaround that might help you rectify this bug. So without any further ado, let’s check it out.
Fix OnePlus 10 Pro: Cannot Install Android 13 Stuck on Password Screen
As of now, the only way to resolve this issue is by using Google’s Find my device feature. For that, there is just one prerequisite that you should have completed beforehand- your OnePlus device should have been linked with your Google account. If that’s well and good, then let’s get started with the steps. So these were the steps to fix the issue of being unable to install Android 13 onto the OnePlus 10 Pro as it gets stuck on the password setup screen. There’s no official confirmation on this issue as it is only being faced by a handful of users. So the aforementioned method is the sole way out for now. Apart from that, you might take a few other technical routes, but none of them might be possible at this point in time. For example, you could opt for flashing a custom ROM and hence bypass the setup screen. However, that requires you to unlock the bootloader for which you have to enable the OEM Unlock toggle, which is not possible in the current scenario. Next up, you could boot your device to EDL Mode and then flash the OFP unbrick firmware via MSM Download Tool. However, there is no working MSM Tool for this device as of now. So, using Google’s Find My Device page is the sole way out for the time being.
