For the unaware, YouTube has changed its Volume standard from Normalized to Dynamic Range Compression. And this has resulted in low and poor audio quality issues on YouTube music videos. As is the case with YouTube, this change has also been implemented without giving any granular control to the end-users. So there’s currently no option to switch back to the Normalized standard. With that said, there does exist a nifty workaround that shall help you rectify this issue. So without further ado, let’s check it out.
Fix Low and Poor Quality Sound on YouTube Music Videos
In order to resolve this bug, you will either have to sign out of your account and then load the desired video or launch YouTube in an Incognito Mode [using Ctrl+Shift+N shortcut keys]. While this trick has its downsides, such as the premium users will now be getting ads and the vidoe recommendations will no longer be personalized, but as of now, this is the only workaround that is spelling out success for the users.
So try out this workaround and check if it fixes the YouTube low and poor audio quality issues on music videos. As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are yet to acknowledge this issue, let alone give out any ETA for the rollout of a fix. As and when any of these two things happen, we will update this guide accordingly. In the meantime, the aforementioned workaround is your best bet.
