Apple Will Sell iPhone 12 Charger Separately
A report from famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo via MacRumors, who is trusted when it comes to Apple suggests that Apple will release a new 20W power adapter and will stop the production of 5W and 18W power adapters by the end of this year. The leaked photos suggest that it will look like the 18W fast charger which Apple included with iPhone 11 last year. It will have a USB- C power adapter for fast charging. As per reports, Apple will not include the fast charger in the box and it will not give the wired earbuds, that they call EarPods too. This is to lure customers into buying the AirPods and AirPods pro. The possible reason for this according to Kuo is that Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 12 at a similar price of the iPhone 11 and because of the 5G modem, it will cut the cost by excluding the charger and earbuds. Apple usually sells the 18W adapter for USD 29 so we can say that the new 20W charger will be launched for a price of USD 50 easy and for people who do not have an old power adapter from previous iPhones, they will have to buy the charger too. So that’s how Apple is planning to get the revenue from these things. The launch of the iPhone is still not confirmed but the news of Apple planning to sell iPhone 12 charger separately is here, we do not know if the production of the iPhone 12 is on track or not. So the launch of the iPhone 12 will only confirm what we will see in the box and whatnot.
